IFS Therapy In The Woodlands, TX
Compassionate, collaborative IFS therapy for high-performing professionals managing change, loss, and adjustment
IFS, or “Parts Work”, recognizes that we all are made up of different parts. These parts have jobs to keep us out of pain and danger. You might be familiar with some of yours – i.e., the inner critic, task manager, social media scroller, and so on. Each part is working hard to keep things orderly and contained.
Grief, loss, and adjustment are really hard on our inner world.
Whether you’ve lost someone you love, said goodbye to a beloved pet, faced an unexpected change in a relationship or career, or are grieving the loss of who you once were, these experiences can pull you away from your deepest sense of Self.
Grief and loss is disruptive and we are tempted to avoid those parts grieving.
You probably have noticed a part focused on what’s to come and another focused on the past. It is hard to imagine finding some kind of inner contentment.
IFS therapy offers a proven method for slowing down and integrating our parts into a greater sense of wholeness. Using IFS in your healing work enables you to see your grieving parts with compassion and clarity. In time, and with consistent IFS therapy, parts begin to adjust to their new reality.
Instead of analyzing or intellectualizing what’s happening, IFS gives you a chance to experience it.
You might notice things, like a tension in your chest, a part that braces, or a voice that says you’re not doing enough, or that it’s not safe to need anything from anyone.
Rather than working to quiet those experiences, we get curious about them.
Hi, I’m Kellie.
I’m here to introduce myself not only as potentially your next therapist, but as someone who understands what it means to experience inner tension and parts that don’t always agree.
I believe in Parts Work because it changed my experience of myself. Once I could step outside the patterns and unblend from parts, I felt more autonomy and agency over my life. I learned how to help my parts let go of their burdens and trust.
My approach to IFS therapy is shaped by clinical experience, ongoing training with the pioneers of IFS, and a deep-down passion to help others find inner calm during turbulent times.

Many people tell me that just saying out loud what’s going on during the call makes them feel a lot better
You may have already done some reading on IFS therapy, but you don’t need to arrive with a clear understanding of parts, the Self, or how the model works.
What matters far more than preparation is presence.
A willingness to slow down, turn inward, and approach whatever comes up with openness and compassion.
No matter your exposure or experience level with IFS, we’ll find our way into the work together, at a pace that feels right for you.
IFS is a flexible approach that works well for a wide range of experiences.
In my practice, I often use IFS Therapy for:
● grief
● loss
● anxiety
● burnout
● relationship patterns that keep repeating
● life transitions
● chronic self-criticism
If you’ve been carrying something for a while and haven’t been able to fully shift it, IFS may be able to reach what other approaches haven’t. I would love to show you how.
Many people who come to IFS have tried other forms of therapy and still feel like something hasn’t fully moved. Luckily, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy works at a different level.
Rather than helping you understand your patterns from the outside, it helps you make direct contact with the parts of you that are keeping those patterns in place.
For people who have a lot of insight but haven’t seen it translate into real change, IFS therapy is very likely to help you make the improvements you’re after.
IFS isn’t a diagnosis, and it doesn’t mean your mind is fractured or disordered. The idea that we contain different “parts” – such as a part that wants to move forward, a part that’s scared, a part that criticizes, and a part that shuts down – is simply a more honest description of something everyone experiences.
IFS gives you a language and a process for understanding those parts, rather than fighting them. When you take the IFS approach, the various parts of you that conflict will surely get on the same page, and you can have an easier time achieving your goals, both internal and external. You can also feel much less inner tension overall.
Sessions vary depending on where you are in the work, but most involve slowing down and turning attention inward.
This way, you notice what’s present, which part has come forward, and approach it with curiosity rather than judgment.
It’s less about talking through events and more about making direct contact with the parts involved. How do they feel and respond to different situations? What triggers them? How can they be integrated into your broader self so you experience more change more easily?
IFS is particularly well-suited to grief because it doesn’t try to move you through loss on a schedule.
Rather than managing the emotions that grief activates, IFS works with them, helping you understand which parts are carrying the pain, which parts are working hard to protect you from it, and what each of them actually needs.
Grief isn’t something to resolve in IFS. It’s actually something to meet with compassion and nonjudgment, so you can move and shift it to something lighter, such as acceptance or meaning.
There’s no fixed timeline, and it varies significantly depending on what you’re working through and how long you’ve been carrying it.
Some people notice meaningful shifts within a session or two, while deeper work (particularly around long-held patterns or early wounds) can take longer.
What tends to be true is that once parts feel genuinely understood, the work moves more naturally.
We’ll talk about pacing together as we go.
Yes, sessions are available both in-person at the office in The Woodlands and virtually across Texas.
Some clients prefer to have the conversation while we’re physically in the same room.
And other clients find that virtual therapy works well for them, as it removes the barrier of travel and allows them to be in their own space.
I’m happy to do whatever format works best for you.
There’s a lot of therapy content out there, like articles, apps, AI tools, and online communities.
Some of it is genuinely helpful for understanding what you’re going through.
But understanding what you’re going through and actually moving or shifting it are two different things.
What changes in IFS therapy isn’t your knowledge: it’s your relationship to what you’re carrying.
That happens through a real human connection, over time, with someone who can sit with you in the complexity of it.
It happens because someone is paying attention to you specifically. Something AI may never be able to replicate.
KK Therapy Group is a private pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
Many people choose private pay because it allows therapy to be guided by their needs rather than insurance requirements.
This offers greater flexibility in the focus, pace, and length of treatment, while also providing an added level of privacy.
If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be provided for potential reimbursement from your insurance company.

If it feels right, we’ll talk about next steps from there.
